Common Questions

Are EVs exempt from the congestion charge?

Yes, EVs are exempt from the congestion charge but you have to register your car to avoid the charge. Read more about how this works here.

Can I drive an EV in snow or cold weather?

Yes, you absolutely can. But there are a few things to be aware of:

  • Charging times are a little slower in the cold, so make sure to factor this in.
  • Using the fans to heat the car can eat into your battery range, so preheat your car before you get in. If you can do this while plugged into a charger, even better.
  • You can get the most out of your EV during winter if you drive efficiently. To find out how to do this, check out this article that gives you the low down on driving an EV in winter.
How do I get set up on the Tesla app?

You don’t need proof of ownership to get set up and you can log in with the email address you used to sign up for your car. This will link the car to your app. This sometimes takes a couple of days, especially in busy periods. You can read more about what do here.
