Driver Insurance Criteria
General eligibility
Age
- All drivers must be between 18 and 75 years of age (a maximum age of 78 at the end of contract)
- If any named driver is under 27, please speak to one of our team to confirm eligibility, as in some cases, there may be restrictions on the vehicles we can offer.
Licence
- All drivers must hold a full licence from the UK, EU, or EEA.
- If you have a licence from a designated country that is not listed above you may be eligible to exchange it for a GB licence within 5 years of becoming a UK resident. Read more about exchanging licences.
- If you have a licence from any other country, you may need to sit your GB driving licence test to be eligible to drive our EVs. See more here.
Employment
- No drivers are celebrities or otherwise in the public eye including professional sportspersons, actors and musicians
Residency
- All drivers must be a permanent UK resident or have a valid residence visa that covers the entire duration of your lease.
- e.g. for 36 month lease, any visas must be valid for a minimum of 36 months from the start of the lease.
Convictions
- No drivers have a non-motoring conviction that is not spent under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.
- Claims or category ‘A’ convictions over three years old from the car delivery date are acceptable.

What's covered?
- Emergency medical treatment.
- In the event of an accident, a courtesy car is provided for the duration of your repairs when using an approved repairer (subject to availability). These are typically small hatchbacks and EVs may not always be available.

Admiral only
Claims and convictions
- No more than two FAULT claims per driver disclosed in the last three years.
- No convictions that have resulted in a ban in the last five years (including any category ‘A’ convictions).
- Please note: No drivers have a non-motoring conviction that is not spent under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.
Policy excesses
- Accidental Damage excess £250.
- An additional excess of £325 applies to drivers aged 17 to 20 for accidental damage.
- An additional excess of £225 applies to drivers aged 21 to 24 for accidental damage.
- Fire, Theft and Malicious damage excess £250.
- Replacement windscreen excess £115. Windscreen repair excess £25.
Classes of use
- Social, domestic, pleasure covered for main and all additional drivers as standard with the option to add commuting.
- Business use for the main driver and/or all named drivers available.
No claims bonus
- Main drivers can use their no claims bonus if it’s not already in use against another motor insurance policy. Bonuses can only be used at point of sale.
- Main drivers can accrue their no claims bonus during their lease.

Midterm adjustments
- Material changes to your additional drivers, address or mileage allowance can impact your insurance premium.
What's covered?
- You can add up to 3 additional drivers to your policy, as long as they meet our eligibility criteria.
- Personal belongings in your car up to £200.
- Medical expenses, up to £500 per person.
- Up to £500 toward replacement locks and keys (excludes keys left in or with your vehicle).
- Up to £1,000 cover to replace your wallbox if damaged by fire, theft, vandalism, or accident.
- Free extended use of your car for up to 60 days across the EU, Andorra, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Serbia, and Switzerland.
- If you are a permanent resident of Northern Ireland, your insurance cover automatically extends to the Republic of Ireland for the duration of your policy.
- Unlimited cover for permanently fitted audio and navigation equipment that has no independent power source. After-market equipment is covered up to £1,250 or the market value of your vehicle (whichever is lower).
Lloyd Latchford only
Claims and convictions
- No more than two category 'A' convictions disclosed and no more than one FAULT claim per driver disclosed in the last three years.
- Category ‘A’ Convictions show on online licence checks beginning with the following codes: CU or LC or MW or PC or SP or TS.
- Please note: if you have any of the following then you DO NOT meet the eligibility criteria for the scheme.
- Any conviction which has resulted in a ban in the last five years (including any of the minor conviction codes above).
- A conviction in the last five years with any of the following letters on your licence; AC – BA – CD – DD – DG – DR – IN – MS – TT - UT - XX - NE.
Policy excesses (for any policy with a start date up to and including 30th April 2026)
- Accidental Damage excess £250.
- An additional excess of £300 applies to drivers aged 17 to 20 for accidental damage.
- An additional excess of £200 applies to drivers aged 21 to 24 for accidental damage.
- Fire, Theft and Malicious damage excess £250.
- Replacement windscreen excess £75. No excess if the windscreen is repaired.
Policy excesses (for any policy with a start date on or after 1st May 2026)
- Accidental Damage excess £350.
- An additional excess of £300 applies to drivers aged 17 to 20 for accidental damage.
- An additional excess of £200 applies to drivers aged 21 to 24 for accidental damage.
- Fire, Theft and Malicious damage excess £350.
- Replacement windscreen excess £150. No excess if the windscreen is repaired.
Classes of use
- Social, domestic, pleasure and commuting cover, including use by the policy holder in connection with their employer’s business is covered as standard.
- Business use for spouse or domestic/civil partner may be considered on a case-by-case basis but check before ordering.
- Named additional drivers – social, domestic and pleasure use with commuting to a single place of work (business use not available).
What's covered?
- Premium is a true fixed price for the duration of your contract.
- Unlimited cover for permanently fitted audio and navigation equipment that has no independent power source.
- Up to three named drivers, including the main driver, are allowed on the policy, subject to all drivers meeting the eligibility criteria.
- Personal belongings in your car up to £350.
- Medical expenses up to £350 for each person injured in the vehicle.
- Child seat cover limit of £100 following accident, fire or theft
- Replacement locks (see full policy wording for details).
- Damage to your vehicle following incorrect fuelling (no cover for removal of incorrect fuel and refuelling of the car).
- Cover for charging cables whilst in or connected to the vehicle.
- Free extended use of your car for up to 182 days across the EU, Andorra, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Serbia, and Switzerland.
- If your vehicle is stolen or declared a total loss, you are covered for a courtesy car for up to 14 days or until a settlement is reached, whichever comes first.
