What happens when an employee taking a car through salary sacrifice leaves the company?
One of the most frequently asked questions that we get from teams looking to join our salary sacrifice scheme is, “what happens if an employee who takes a car on the scheme leaves the company?”
We offer lots of employer protections to make sure we’ve got you covered if this happens.
Can our company return a car during the agreed period?
We know that unexpected things happen in your business. Your employees are real people with real lives, and we understand their circumstances can change.
To protect your business, we offer employers generous early return protection.
Employers can return a number of cars each year, free of charge. This means you don't have to worry about cars sitting in the car park gathering dust if the employee is no longer at the company, you can send them back to us at no extra cost.
The levels of protection we offer are dependent on your business needs.
What happens if an employee is off work long term?
Having one of your team off work for a period of time comes with its stresses, so we want to make sure their car isn’t one of them.
We'll give protection for employees who are off work for maternity, paternity and sick leave.
You’ll continue to make the payments for the car across the agreed period. When the employee comes back to full-time work, we’ll give you the money back for that period in credit against your account.
What if an employee leaves the company?
We protect you for that too! You can simply return their car to us under your early return protection. We’ll protect you for employees who leave because of redundancy, resignation and dismissal. The number of times you can do this depends on the level you choose when you join.
Our salary sacrifice scheme is the right choice for you if you’re looking to give your team a great benefit, and want to make sure your business is protected too. There’s no cost to the business to join the scheme, and it’s a fantastic way to reward your employees with a brand new electric vehicle.
