EV charging for your team at work

Everything you need to know about installing EV charging for your employees to use when they are at the office.

What is commercial charging?

Commercial charging is when businesses install electric vehicle charging stations at places of employment, such as offices, factories, or warehouses. If you're a business looking to show your employees that you’re invested in joining the electric revolution, commercial charging should be at the top of your list.

You’ll be encouraging the adoption of electric vehicles by making it more convenient for employees to charge their cars while at work.

What are the benefits of commercial charging?

Give your employees the flexibility to charge where it's most convenient for them.

Our partners at Plug Me In are one of the best in the business when it comes to ensuring compatibility with EVs and infrastructure, and provide 24/7 user support, anytime, anywhere.

Plug Me In has a few funding options; including subscription based monthly payments, outright purchase, revenue generation and cost recovery models.

There's also external grants. Under the Government’s Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS), businesses can receive grants towards the upfront cost of the purchase and installation of charge points.

The contribution is limited to 75% – or £350 per socket – of these costs, up to a maximum of 40 sockets per business. These can be on different sites. Long story short, there are plenty options!

Our partners Plug Me In take care of everything from advice, design, installation, funding, operating and maintaining your commercial chargers. Their team of experts have got you covered and will work with you every step of the way. Pretty neat right?

Plug Me In's smart management portal provides the flexibility to set usage restrictions for all or any specific group of users. Put simply, that gives you control of who has access to your workplace chargers and who pays what.

Providing free charging access for employees is a great way to increase employee satisfaction, but for some businesses, it can be costly. There are plenty of options, including cost recovery tariffs which can be tailored for what's best for your business.
