Power Pack Bundle Eligibility Criteria

The Power Pack Bundle has strict eligibility requirements. If you do not meet these, you will not be able to join the Bundle or may be removed from it.

To be eligible for the Power Pack Bundle with BYD, Octopus Energy and Octopus EV you will need:

  • A G99 license (permission from your network operator to export power to the grid) is required. Approval can take up to 12 weeks and is not guaranteed, as it depends on local grid capacity and your home setup. If you are not approved, you cannot take a V2G-enabled BYD Dolphin, but our EV specialists can help you choose a suitable non-V2G vehicle instead.
  • A schedule that fits. You'll need to be able to plug in for 12 hours a day for 20 days per month. You must be able to plug in your EV for at least 12 hours per day on at least 20 days each month. If you regularly fall short, you may be removed from the Power Pack tariff. You can see the full T&Cs of the tariff here.
  • To be a customer of Octopus Energy, (or be willing to become one!).
  • To want to lease (rather than own) an electric vehicle.
  • To drive less than 12,000 miles a year.
  • Off street parking and ability to charge your EV at home.
  • To be over the age of 18 and have a full driving licence.
  • No plans to move home in the next 6 months as this may affect installation and eligibility.
  • A working half-hourly smart meter.
  • Single-phase power at your property (most UK homes do). If your property has three-phase power instead, the Power Pack Bundle is not currently compatible.
  • You cannot have looped supply and you must have a 100 amp fuse

Please note:

  • Insurance is not included and has to be obtained by the driver, this must be comprehensive insurance in line with our consumer personal contract hire (PCH) requirements.
  • Each customer must pass a credit and affordability assessment in order to be eligible for the product.
  • You must pay an upfront payment equivalent to 1, 3, 6, 9, or 12 months of your lease. The exact amount will depend on the option you choose when customising your quote.
  • This product is only available if you do not already export electricity to the grid (for example, from solar panels or a home battery).
  • Free charging is available for up to your contracted lease mileage, up to 12,000 miles.
  • Access to this product is limited to Personal Contract Hire agreements only.
