Power Pack is a variable tariff. This is a “type of use” tariff; this means it applies to energy used to charge your BYD Dolphin on lease from Octopus EV only, not other energy you use at home, and so you must be on another Octopus Energy tariff in addition to the Power Pack tariff in order to cover energy usage in the home. This can be any other tariff except Agile, Tracker or one of Octopus Energy's Intelligent Octopus tariffs.

To be eligible for this tariff you must:

• Be successful in getting G99 permission to export at least 5 kW onto the grid, which we will apply for on your behalf;
• Have a Smart Meter installed and registered for export;
• Have a Zaptec Pro Charger installed and operational at the property which Octopus Energy supply;
• Have a BYD Dolphin on lease from Octopus EV (“your EV”);
• Have your EV plugged in and available for a minimum of 12h/day for 20 days each month
• connect your EV to the Intelligent Octopus platform
• This product will only be available for people who do not already export electricity to the grid (e.g. from solar or battery)

Please be aware that while you can charge other electric vehicles using your Zaptec Pro charger, free charging will only be available on your EV leased as part of the Power Pack Bundle. Other electric vehicle charging will be billed at your standard tariff rate.

Important: If you fail to meet this criteria for more than a two month period,, you may not be able to continue to receive credited charging and would instead be billed at your normal home tariff rates.

Charges on the Power Pack tariff work like this:

• In the first week of each calendar month, we shall apply a credit to your account, based on how much of your total electricity usage in the previous month was used to charge your EV, not including any charging you carry out outside of your scheduled charging times (‘bump charging’).
• All other electricity that you use (e.g. for home energy consumption) will be charged/credited at the normal unit rate you pay according to your other tariffs. These rates and your applicable standing charges will be shown in your account balance and on your bill.

To be on the Power Pack tariff, you agree to connect your EV to the Intelligent Octopus platform. This is an ongoing requirement throughout your time on this tariff. If you are not connected for more than 30 days, you will no longer be eligible. Octopus Energy will automatically move you to a standard tariff and you will be billed at standard rates.

You must provide Octopus Energy with your operating preferences, for example what time you need your EV ready in the morning and how much energy you would like to add to your vehicle. Octopus Energy will take these preferences into account and optimise your energy use around those preferences as far as possible. If it's not possible to charge your car by the time you specify (for example, because the connector capacity is not sufficient for a full charge or because your preferences are updated on too short notice for a full charge) Octopus Energy will try to charge as much as possible in the time available.

Vehicle To Grid (V2G) will only be active when using your Zaptec Pro charger installed as part of the Power Pack Bundle. You will not be able to have another EV charger on site, but we can replace your existing charger with a Zaptec Pro charger.

By signing up to the Power Pack tariff, you agree to give Octopus Energy:

• Permission to integrate and connect with your EV and Zaptec Pro charger using your home wifi, in-built sim card, or other method as agreed between us.
• Permission to influence the times of operation of your low carbon technology. Octopus Energy will always strive to operate these assets in line with the preferences you have specified in the Octopus Energy app, but this service cannot be guaranteed.
• Data about your low carbon technology, including but not limited to model, power consumption, operating preferences, any actions you take to operate these assets and how these assets perform. Octopus Energy will use this information to optimise your asset operations, send operating instructions to your low carbon technology, and generate bills.
• Exclusive rights to control your low carbon technology for the purposes of providing Demand Response Services (including but limited to the Demand Flexibility Service, Constraint Management Services and Balancing Mechanism & Capacity Market) while you remain on this tariff. By agreeing to these terms you authorise Octopus Energy to enter Demand Response Services contracts (up to five years in advance) with your low carbon technology and share relevant data with the relevant Market Operator, including but not limited to your half-hourly consumption data, address and Meter Point Administration Number (MPAN) where necessary
• Exclusive right to control your low carbon technology to deliver on Demand Response Services when required by such service contracts.
• In addition, you agree not to enter your household or any other low carbon technology you own into a third party’s scheme that enters you into a Demand Response Service (including but limited to the Demand Flexibility Service, Distribution Constraint Management Services and Balancing Mechanism & Capacity Market) while you remain on this tariff. If Octopus Energy become aware that you have joined another third party’s scheme, we have the right to remove you from Power Pack.

Important:

Octopus Energy do not guarantee that this tariff will be compatible with your low carbon technology or that your technology will operate in accordance with your preferences.

Octopus Energy does not accept liability for wear to your EV, charger, or low carbon technology or scheduling failures, or other electrical faults - our liability to you is set out in Octopus Energy's General T&Cs.

The Power Pack Bundle (our V2G enabled BYD Dolphin package) includes a free Zaptec charger and protection devices with standard installation.

The free charger offer only applies when you take out a BYD Dolphin lease as part of the Power Pack Bundle. If you cancel your lease, you may be charged for the full cost of the charger and installation.

BYD Dolphin (V2G enabled): This offer is available on V2G enabled BYD Dolphin leased through Octopus Electric Vehicles from 23rd June 2024, while stocks last. .

Home charger offer

• The free home charger is only available if you lease a V2G-enabled BYD Dolphin from Octopus Electric Vehicles as part of the Power Pack Bundle.

The chargers and protection devices eligible under this offer may change from time to time. We will tell you about any changes to the charger model offered before confirming your order. We will always confirm the exact charger model before you agree to your order.

If you require any work beyond standard installation (for example, longer cabling, additional groundworks or upgrades to your home’s electrical supply) or want a different charger, you will be quoted directly for any additional costs by Octopus Energy Services, our sister company that manages the installation.

Installation timelines depend on engineer availability and may vary. We cannot guarantee that the charger installation will occur before delivery of your vehicle, and installation lead times can be up to 16 weeks.
