With more than 121,000 public EV chargepoints across the UK (and thousands more being added every year), it's never been easier to top up your battery while you're already out making memories with the family this summer.

Many of the best family days out now have charging on-site or just a short walk away, so you can spend less time thinking about your battery and more time enjoying the day.

  • Warner Bros. Studio Tour London - chargers are in the Premium Parking area, but EV drivers can use them at no extra cost - standard parking is still included with your ticket.
  • LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort - chargers are in the Premium Parking area. Premium Parking charges apply, but if you charge, it's worth contacting the resort afterwards as they may refund the difference.
  • Chessington World of Adventures - on-site chargers are also in the Premium Parking area. Premium Parking charges apply, but you may be able to claim the difference back after charging.
Family friendly pubs & cafes

One of the unexpected perks of driving an EV is discovering places you'd probably never have stopped at otherwise.

Instead of waiting around at a motorway service station, stop somewhere everyone can enjoy while your car charges.

Beaches

  • Mablethorpe, Lincolnshire - chargers in the seafront car park next to the splash park, mini golf and beach huts.
  • Sheringham Beach, Norfolk - Park at the Morris Street car park, plug in while you enjoy the beach, independent cafés and traditional seaside charm, then head home with a full battery.
  • Porthleven Beach, Cornwall - there’s a hidden gem here within an industrial estate, park here, enjoy a freshly roasted coffee/hot drink, then head down to the harbour and beach.

Keeping it simple this summer?

Not every summer adventure needs to be a big day out.

If you're heading to the local park, packing a picnic, or doing the weekly food shop - it's worth making the most of supermarket charging while you're there.

Many Tesco, Sainsbury's, Waitrose and Morrisons stores now have public chargepoints, so you can top up while picking up picnic food, ice creams or those last-minute barbecue essentials.

Some of our favourite family days out have been discovered by accident while stopping to charge.

As a team, we've stumbled across places like Mudeford and Porthleven that we'd probably never have visited otherwise. Sometimes it's a hidden beach, or a brilliant café - and sometimes it even ends with a new coffee subscription.
