Helping TPXimpact reduce their carbon footprint and boost employee retention

“It felt a bit ridiculous to even put together a pitch to get the scheme signed off because there’s no cost for the employer.”

Neil Clark, Planet Officer

TPXimpact chose our salary sacrifice scheme to actively reduce the carbon footprint of the company through planet centred design, by explicitly considering the planet as a stakeholder in all of the business activities.

Commitment to ESG

TPXimpact is a leading agency delivering transformation that matters. They're united by the belief that it's possible to deliver more for organisations, public services and society by harnessing digital technologies, modern ways of working and a fresh mindset to create better outcomes for people and the planet.

They have an internal green group whose job is to make sure that the business is having as little impact on the planet as possible.

TPXimpact started using the Octopus Electric Vehicles salary sacrifice scheme in March 2021 as part of their green benefit schemes for employees.

“As a company, we’re actively trying to reduce our carbon footprint. We’re keen to make sure that we don’t just put policies in place, but that we're actually living these values.”

Supporting decarbonisation of the planet

When TPXimpact first came to us, they were working on having planet centred design throughout all areas of the business, and how to make sustainability a non-functional requirement. Neil Clark, Planet Officer explained, “we’re looking at how we can make sustainability the same as accessibility, security or maintainability.”

Neil explained why they chose Octopus Electric Vehicles as their salary sacrifice scheme provider: “From my perspective as Planet Officer, I was very keen that we use a company that only offers Electric Vehicles, rather than hybrids or ICE cars. We don’t want to work with a leasing company that offers ICE vehicles and then politely ask employees to please choose an EV. A lot of people won’t, so that’s not right for us. We really want to push the boundaries on reducing our carbon footprint so working with Octopus Electric Vehicles was the ideal company to partner with.”

Making it appealing for employees to switch to electric

TPXimpact are extending their green initiatives and benefits to their employees across as many areas as possible, including encouraging their employees to switch to renewable energy tariffs.

“One of the things I really like about the Octopus Electric Vehicles scheme is that it’s the full package. The charger, plus the Octopus Go tariff, I think the whole offer is really attractive. To make it financially comparable to an ICE car because of the tax incentives makes it such an easy way to switch to electric.”

A no-brainer to support employee retention

TPXimpact offer a wide range of employee perks and benefits to their team, and the Octopus Electric Vehicles salary sacrifice scheme supports their employee recruitment and retention.

“Having perks like this helps with employee retention and reducing turnover figures. For us, it was the easiest thing in the world to get signed off. After I showed the presentation, the reaction I got was - where do we sign?”

If you’re looking to do more to support your team to go green and reduce their carbon footprint, our electric car salary sacrifice scheme is right for you.
